1. Who are the Uyghurs?

The Uyghurs are a minority group of Turkic-speaking Muslims from the Central region of China. Majority of their population is now living in China's “autonomous region”, Xinjiang. In other words, Xinjiang is the home of almost 11 million Uyghurs, and where they’re free to express their culture and religion freely.

2.New government rulings

By acknowledging the large and constantly increasing population of the Uyghurs, the Chinese government decided to unreasonably arrest and send millions of Uyghurs into concentration camps to be “reeducated” for pretty long periods. Coverage of these issues have been completely blocked by their government, leaving barely any footage or evidence to the public regarding what happens in this region.
